At bbhugme, our product designs are based on years of education, research, and clinical experience. We have selected specific materials to bring you features such as adjustability, pressure relief, and ultimate comfort.

When you shop with us, you can rest easy knowing all our products are certified by Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX Class 1, one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. Our pillows are certified by their Class 1, which includes products for babies and has the strictest requirements and limit values.

Inner pillows

• The inner-pillow fabric is composed of 85% nylon and 15% spandex.

• Our inner pillows are filled with pressure-relieving microbeads that hug your body and allow for the pillow's unique adjustable firmness and shape versatility.

• For our microbead materials, we are currently transitioning from Biofoam® beads to expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads. This means that during 2024, some of our pillows are filled with Biofoam beads and some are filled with EPS beads.Biofoam is produced from plant and vegetable waste and is certified industrially compostable in accordance with EN 13432. EPS is a material with natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and is tested and certified per applicable standards.

• NOTE: The inner pillows are intentionally not filled to 100% to allow for adjustable firmness. Over time, the microbeads inside the pillow may slightly decompress or flatten due to the collapse of tiny air pockets, a natural process common to products using similar beads. Typically, a 5-15% decompression occurs over a year of regular use, which is one of the reasons why we provide silicon Pebbles for adjustment. Some decompression is normal and should not affect the functionality of the pillow. However, If you think your pillow has decompressed more than expected, please send us a photo of your inner pillow without the cover so we can assess its condition.

How to care for your inner pillow: Do NOT machine wash. If you need to clean the inner pillow, please spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not tumble dry. Allow the bbhugme inner pillow to dry in a well-ventilated area. When the pillow has dried, shake and fluff it to help your pillow regain its shape.

Pillow covers

Our pillow covers are spun from 95% cotton and 5% spandex jersey and are Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX Class 1 Certified. 

How to care for your pillow cover: Machine wash at 104°F / 40°C. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners. Hang to dry; do not tumble dry.

When feeding your baby using our Nursing Pillow or Pregnancy Pillow, we recommend using a burp cloth to catch leaks and spills. While the cover is machine washable, using a cloth in addition will prevent the need for frequent washes. 

Pebbles

Our patented pebbles are made from 100% BPA-free silicone, are free of any harmful additives, and are Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX Class 1 Certified. Pebbles are dishwasher safe and can also be washed by hand with warm water.

Travel and Storage bags 

As part of our focus on sustainability, we never use plastic packaging. Every bbhugme Pregnancy Pillow and Nursing Pillow comes in a reusable fabric bag made from 100% cotton. With a drawstring and a handy shoulder strap, these bags are perfect for traveling with your bbhugme pillows or storing them when not in use. The bags can be machine washed at 104°F / 40°C. Hang to dry.

Extra covers and Pebbles are delivered in a reusable textile bag repurposed from surplus fabric to help eliminate unnecessary waste. These can also be handy to use for storage of other things such as pacifiers or burp clothes.
